Panama is incorporated into the White List of the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (Paris MoU)

During the 44th Commitee Meeting held in Naples, Italy, from 2 to 6 of May 2011, the Republic of Panama was incorporated into the White List of the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (Paris MoU).

The White List of Paris MoU includes countries with low detentions records of their vessels in waters of the European coastal States and the North Atlantic basin from North America to Europe. The Paris MoU seeks to eliminate the operation of sub-standard ships through a harmonized system of Port State Control.

The incorporation of Panama to the White List demonstrates the commitment of the country to advance good policies and operational practices of maritime safety throughout the world.
