On April 26, 2017, the Embassy of Panama in Japan participated in the Latin American and Caribbean Charity Luncheon , which was organized by the Japan-Latin American and the Caribbean Ladies Association. The event took place at the oficial residence of the Ambassador of Brasil to Japan.
This is an annual event with the participation of the Embassies of Latin American and the Caribbean countries in Japan and the members of this association. It aims to introduce the gastronomy of each country of the region among Japanese members. It is important to point out that the event counted on the participation of Her Imperial Highness Princess Hitachi and Mrs. Akie Abe, Wife of Prime Minister of Japan this year.
The Embassy of Panama offered traditional dishes such as chopped beef steak and Panamanian pudding, as well as Panamanian rum as national product. During the event, a music concert by Venezuelan musician was taken place as a part of culture introduction.
The raised funds during this event are donated to charity activities in Latin American and Caribbean countries.
