  • Panama is proud of its coffee tradition, since it produces coffee from the ends of 1800s.
  • There are three coffee producer zones:
      • Boquete ( sub-regions: Alto Quiel, Palo Alto, Jaramillo, Horqueta, Bajo Mono, Volcancito, Camiseta, El Salto)
      • Volcán (sub-regions: Bambito, Paso Ancho, Barriles, Tizingal, Los Pozos)
      • Piedra Candela (sub-regions: Piedra de Candela, Colorado, Santa Clara, Cotito, Río Sereno)
  • There are two coffee-related organizations in Panama:
      • Asociación de Cafés Especiales de Panamá (SCAP)
      • Asociación Nacional de Beneficiadores y Exportadores de Café de Panama (ANBEC), focused in improving the quality of production and agricultural processes, while promoting and trading our coffee in markets or specialized niches.
  • Currently, Panama produces approximately 100,000 bags (each bag=60kg or 132lbs) of specialty coffee to export. Comparing to other producing countries, our production is limited; nevertheless, this allow us to perform a more accurate control process, so that we are able to provide prime-quality specialty coffee
  • Panama does not perform high-volume, low-cost and poor-quality coffee business. On the contrary, Panama goes through excellence-in-quality business by low-volume production, with high technology, while achieving environmental sustainability, and offering fair treatment to coffee-related employees.
  • In addition, our privileged geographic position as well as outstanding logistic facilities (airports, roads network, railway system, ports and harbors, etc.) allow us to distribute merchandise to consumers all over the world in a very quick manner.
