On December 1, 2017, the Embassy of Panama carried out a seminar about Panamanian culture and tourism to the members of the NPO World Heritage Academy in Japan. The event took place in the residence of the Ambassador of Panama to Japan.
The World Heritage Academy consists of Japanese intellectuals with the purpose to promote the World Heritages in different countries.
During the opening remarks, H.E. Ritter N. Diaz, Ambassador of Panama to Japan conveyed his gratitude to the members of the Academy for their interests in Panama’s historic and natural heritages. He also informed about the 500th Anniversary of the Foundation of Panama city which will be celebrated on August 14th in 2019.
On the other hand, Mrs. Ayana Hatada, Wife of Ambassador, delivered a presentation about the world heritages in Panama, as well as the Panama Canal and the country’s indigenous tribes. In addition, she made a presentation about the World Youth Day, which will be held in Panama in January, 2019.
Participants also had an opportunity to taste the Panamanian cuisine, and enjoyed a Panamanian music show.
The event finished with the greeting from Mr. Masato Kitamura, Director of the World Heritage Academy, who conveyed his gratitude for this seminar, expressing his best wishes for the 500th Anniversary of the Foundation of Panama City.
