On February 8, 2017, S.E. Ritter Díaz, the Ambassador of Panama to Japan, visited Chuo Elementary School in Tokyo. This visit had the purpose to disseminate the Panamanian culture among Japanese students, increasing the interest in our country.
In the first part of the visit, Ambassador Díaz made a brief presentation on Panama with the participation of all the students from first to sixth grade. After Japanese harp performance by a group of students, the Ambassador made a brief presentation on Panama such as Panama Canal and the country’s biodiversity. Also, the Ambassador explained about the indigenous groups that live in Panama showing their handicrafts such as Molas, Chaquiras and Chungas.
In the second part of the visit, Ambassador Díaz exchanged opinions with approximately 20 students of the fifth grade who had previously visited our embassy during summer vacation last year. Additionally, all fifth graders made a monocycle performance at the school yard for the Ambassador.
