On January 10th, 2017, on the occasion of the relocation of the new offices of the Embassy and the Consulate-General of Panama in Tokyo, the Embassy of Panama hold an Inauguration reception, accounting for more than 40 participants, including the Ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean in Japan, politicians, high ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, representatives of Japanese companies and general collaborators of the Embassy.。
During the welcome remarks, H.E. Ritter N. Diaz, Ambassador of Panama to Japan, mentioned that the relocation was due to increase the security level of the personnel and the assets of the Mission, in case of large margnitude earthquake in the área of Tokyo.
The Embassy and the Consulate-General moved to a newly constructed building with the latest aseismatic system, taking up the second floor for the Embassy and the first floor for the Consulate. Also, the location has better access to the metro station, providing an easier approach for the visitors and clients.
