On July 15th, 2015, His Excellency Ritter N. Diaz paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Hirotaka Tateishi, President of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS).
At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Diaz appreciated to Mr. Tateishi receiving him and informed that the one of the purposes of his mission is to establish the bond between Panamanian universities and Japanese universities, with the view to enhancing the academic exchange for both countries.
In this matter, Ambassador Diaz explained the managements which he has been carriyng out to establish a framework convention between the University of Panama and Chiba University, with an intention to initiate a training programme of Panamanian students refer to new technology known as Vertical Farming.
In addition, he mentioned the possibility to create a summer internship programme in the Embassy of Panama for students of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in order to adequate a practical experience and also be familiar with the dairy work of a diplomatic mission.
On the other hand, President of TUFS invited Ambassador to participate as a speaker in a seminar which is organized by said university intended for students. He also appreciated the idea of Internship in the Embassy, mentioning that it will be a valuable opportunity for students who specialize in the study of Spanish language and international studies.
Ambassdor Diaz and the President of TUFS agreed to proceed with the negotiations focusing to establish framework convention between TUFS and Panamanian universities with a view to student exchange as well as the meeting to discuss about the terms of internship.
