On June 19, 2017, H.E. Ritter N. Diaz, Ambassador of Panama in Japan, delivered a presentation about Panama in Nagoya University of Foreign Studies, in Aichi prefecture located at the center of Japanese archipelago, in order to disseminate the knowledge of our country among the Japanese student.
Before the presentation, Ambassador Diaz held a meeting with the President of the Nagoya University of Foreign Studies, Mr. Ikuo Kameyama, to exchange views about the possibility to establish academic exchange with Panamanian universities. Ambassador Diaz expressed his gratitude for the invitation to the University and delivered a gift of a Panamanian historical book, titled The Golden Horse in Japanese.
It is important to point out that Ambassador’s presentation was held as part of an international study program of the university, which seeks to help students to understand international affairs through the presentations and exchange of opinions in English with the Ambassadors and diplomats accredited in Japan.
The presentation included history, economy, culture and tourism in Panama, the Panama Canal and brief history about the Panama Ship Registry, which helped students to increase the interests in our country. The event concluded with an exchange of opinions between students and Ambassador Diaz.
