Flag: The Panamanian flag was designed by Ms. Maria Ossa de Amador, wife of Panama’s first President, Mr. Manuel Amador Guerrero.

The Panamanian flag is a rectangle divided into four fields:
Top left field: White background with blue star.
Top right field: Red
Bottom left field: blue
Bottom right field: White background with red star.

Each color is fraught with meaning: white stands for the long-expected peace through the peaceful union of the historical parties; Red represents the Liberal party and Blue represents the Conservative party. 

Coat of Arms: Designed by Mr. Nicanor Villalaz, and painted by Mr. Sebastián Villalaz.
