| Flag: |
The Panamanian flag was designed by Ms. Maria Ossa de Amador,
wife of Panama’s first President, Mr. Manuel Amador Guerrero. |

The Panamanian flag is a rectangle divided into four fields:
Top left field: White background with blue star.
Top right field: Red
Bottom left field: blue
Bottom right field: White background with red star.
Each color is fraught with meaning: white stands for the long-expected peace through the peaceful union of the historical parties; Red represents the Liberal party and Blue represents the Conservative party.
